Better Buses

A FirstBus driver asked two passengers to leave the bus because they were smoking. One of them in particular started getting abusive, throwing racist comments at the driver and a few times threatening him that if he ever visited the “Milk” he would get “cut-up”. Some may say this was bravado, but no driver and no passenger should ever have to put up with such threatening behaviour. It partly stems from the fact that the smoking ban is not being enforced properly. It needs to be made crystal clear to passengers that smoking will not be tolerated, because unfortunately there are plenty of people like these passengers who think they can do whatever they like, polluting the bus air with their horrible cigarettes and then getting threatening and violent if people dare to tell them to put their cigarettes out.
