I caught the bus for the first time in ages today (I usually use the train or subway) and was shocked to find that if you go over the 5 stops rule you have to pay to go to the end of the line (£1.85). I was only travelling from Highburgh Rd to Charing Cross and had to pay the same as someone travelling to Eaglesham. I was taking my son with me so the total cost of the journey was £2.60. I’ll be travelling by train in future where they have the “kids go free” deal and also manage to just charge you to the stop you want.
How can this be right – especially for people who rely on them for travelling to doctors, hospitals appointments etc?
