First’s “simpliCITY” drive has just done away with the leg of the #9 service that links the city centre to the west end, meaning there’s now no direct bus link between the south-west of Glasgow where I live and the West End where I work. Their suggestion is that I take two buses every day but I can’t afford their prices. Why were First permitted to withdraw a sole link between two areas like this? The new philosophy seems to be that as long as all routes link to the city centre then you can mix and match journeys – but of course having to change buses means they rake in more fares. I feel such resentment towards this rip-off company!
