Price is the main problem with Glasgow buses. It costs £4.50 for a day ticket from my house into town. My wife’s employer gets her discounted car parking – £3 to park all day in the city centre, so it’s actually cheaper to drive! Hard to see how to get more people using buses if it’s cheaper and more convenient to drive. The train is also cheaper, quicker and more comfortable. When I moved to the area in 2006 a single into town cost 75p, now it costs £1.85. In six years the price has increased 150% I can’t think of anything else which has increased in price as much as bus fares in that period.
