What people have said so far (Glasgow)

Price is the main problem with Glasgow buses. It costs £4.50 for a day ticket from my house into town. My wife’s employer gets her discounted car parking – £3 to park all day in the city centre, so it’s actually cheaper to drive! Hard to see how to get… Continue reading…

Just a quick response to the letter in the ET by the First Glasgow MD. Its symptomatic of First in Glasgow that they are quoting headline figures that undoubtedly cover or fudge a multitude of sins. This is the PR led approach I feel they have taken any time i… Continue reading…

The price of bus travel is shocking. I live in the West End and it is cheaper for me to use either the train or the underground than it is the bus (both of which are quicker, cleaner and more comfortable). I find, when I have time, I would rather… Continue reading…

hello, I caught the bus for the first time in ages today (I usually use the train or subway) and was shocked to find that if you go over the 5 stops rule you have to pay to go to the end of the line (£1.85). I was only travelling… Continue reading…

I really feel that FirstGlasgow are doing all they can to hide the existence of FirstCard. There’s nothing about it on the website and there is no way of knowing which shops stock it, which means a confusing trawl around local shops at the weekend. I resorted to Twitter and… Continue reading…

First have managed to go from having a terrible service from the East to West of Glasgow to having none at all. In addition to no service, they also have no joined up transfer ticket. So from home to work – less than 4 miles – would now cost £3.80… Continue reading…

Ban the management of transport companies from using cars, and we’ll see service improvements way beyond what re-regulation could deliver. If they don’t fancy that, I’ll compromise and settle for re-regulation. I’m not unreasonable, after all.… Continue reading…

Simple things would greatly improve bus services. For example more convenient times, the 4 bus From the avenue shopping centre comes at ridiculous times 5.01. No use for 5pm finishers 5.34 no use for 5.30 finishers. 6.08 is not much use for 6pm finishers. Making these buses sensible times like… Continue reading…

It should be easier to pay for your journey. At present the fact that First do not provide change or make it easy or even possible to buy online is an issue. First not offering change on-board is a massive frustration. There is a big issue with anti-social behaviour on… Continue reading…
